On Saturday May 30, 2026, from 10am to 12 pm, Framingham hosts its 5th Cooler Communities event at Walsh Middle School in Collaboration with Energize Framingham.

Framingham Public Schools (FPS) have been true trailblazers in our cohort, engaging an impressive number of classrooms and students, presenting on a wide variety of subjects. This year’s line-up includes displays on the topics of:
- Carbon Footprint
- Solar Energy
- Storm Water
- Composting
- Repurposing
- Tree Planting
- Pollinator Gardens
- Waste Reduction/Keep Framingham Beautiful
- Design a City
- Litter in Waterways
- Transportation
- Deforestation
- Climate change effects in polar regions
- Biodiversity
Attendees are asked to promise their own climate friendly action: getting a free energy audit through Mass Save, starting to reduce food waste, exploring solar or heat pump installations, and much more.
The Framingham Cooler Communities program is supported by the FPS Office of Equity, Diversity, and Community Engagement, the FPS Community Resource Development Department, students and faculty of various elementary and middle schools, the Framingham High School Environmental Awareness Club, Energize Framingham and the Sustainability Committee.
Parents and families are encouraged to attend to learn about opportunities to help reduce the community’s carbon footprint and their own utility costs.
